Munich, December 19, 2008 - MTU Aero Engines is taking an approximate 6.6 percent role in General Electric's GEnx engine to power the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental airliner and the Boeing 747-8 Freighter. Germany's leading engine manufacturer will be manufacturing and assuming design responsibility for the engine's turbine center frame. MTU figures the deal can be worth over 11 billion euros in revenue, taken over the life of the program. About 1,150 engines are already on firm order or option.

Munich, December 3, 2008 -  MTU Maintenance in November has been awarded nine contracts worth about 500 million euros and came on strong in a hotly contested market. "The deals we made again demonstrate that amid a difficult economic environment, MTU remains competitive and well positioned," commented Egon Behle, CEO of MTU Aero Engines. The agreements signed in part are long-term, up to ten-year arrangements covering V2500, CF6 and PW2000 engines. They mostly come from the United States and Europe.

Munich, October 23, 2008 – MTU Aero Engines Holding AG has reported successful results for the first nine months of 2008. At September 30, 2008, revenues amounted to €1,982.9 million, 5% higher than at the end of the equivalent period a year earlier (1-9/07: €1,886.8 million). After adjustments for the U.S. dollar exchange rate, revenues increased by 17%. MTU’s earnings continued to improve as well, with adjusted EBITDA1 reaching €295.0 million, which is 5% up on the same period in 2007 (1-9/07: €280.8 million). The EBITDA margin at the end of September came to 14.9%, as in the previous year. Net income has remained stable at €118.6 million (1-9/07: €117.0 million).

Munich, October 15, 2008 - MTU Aero Engines has just passed another significant milestone when yesterday, in France's Toulouse, an Airbus A340 for the first time took off with a PW1000G Geared TurbofanTM engine demonstrator on its wing. The demonstrator completed the flight, about two hours in duration, without a hitch. Germany's leading engine manufacturer contributes the high-pressure compressor plus a key component, the high-speed low-pressure turbine, to the innovative geared turbofan concept. The engine program is being pursued jointly by Pratt & Whitney and MTU. The new propulsion concept will provide drastic improvements in fuel burn, CO2 emission, engine noise, and maintenance cost.

Manchester, Great Britain, October 9, 2008 -  MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg celebrates a new addition to its engine portfolio: the company expands its services as an Authorized GE CF34TM Service Provider to include the CF34-10E engine. Certification covering support for the GE powerplant was awarded by EASA/FAA. Overall, the MRO experts now have the entire in-service CF34 family in their portfolio.

Munich, September 26, 2008 – MTU Aero Engines has launched a new cost-reduction initiative intended to save 50 million euros annually, the bulk of it already in 2010. This follows from an announcement MTU CEO Egon Behle made at today's Analyst and Investor Day the company held in Munich. Behle reaffirmed the company's 2008 forecast and expects MTU to remain on its profitable growth track even in a troubled market environment.

Munich, July 22, 2008 – MTU Aero Engines Holding AG has once again improved its earnings in the half year up to the end of June 2008, reporting EBITDA1 of €194.5 million. This represents an increase of 8% compared with the equivalent period in 2007 (1-6/07: €181.0 million). The company has improved its EBITDA margin by 1.1 percentage points to 15.5%. Net income for the six-month period rose by 79% to €80.4 million (1-6/07: €45.0 million).

Farnborough, July 15, 2008 – MTU Aero Engines has set another first: Germany's leading engine manufacturer has secured for itself an 18 percent role as a program participant in the GE38 helicopter engine. "For the first time, MTU acts as a development participant in a U.S. military engine program," declares MTU CEO Egon Behle. In previous U.S. military engine programs, MTU has been involved in manufacturing roles only. Under the GE38 deal, the German engine builder will be responsible mainly for the power turbine module and moreover have the license for maintenance, final assembly and testing as well as MRO for the GE38 models used in European heavy lift helicopters.

Zhuhai, China, July 9, 2008 -  Effective July 1, 2008, Holger Sindemann (40) has taken the position of President and CEO of MTU Maintenance Zhuhai, a joint venture of MTU Aero Engines and China Southern Airlines. In this role, he succeeds Walter Strakosch, who will take over as Senior Vice President Business Development MRO at MTU. Sindemann has been serving as MTU Aero Engines' Senior Vice President Corporate Development since the beginning of 2006.

Munich, June 26, 2008 – More power and less emissions: General Electric (GE) has uprated its LM6000 gas turbine and unveiled two derivative models — the LM6000-PG with single annular combustor and the LM6000-PH with a dry low emissions combustor. MTU Aero Engines, Germany's leading engine manufacturer, is a risk-and-revenue sharing partner of GE with 13 percent share of the LM6000 program and the new derivative models. "Including spare part sales, that adds up to sales of 1.2 billion euros through the life of the contract," explains Dr. Anton Binder, senior vice president, commercial programs at MTU.

Berlin, May 27, 2008 – MTU Aero Engines has secured a 15 percent stake each in the new PW810 and the Geared TurbofanTM engine for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet. MTU CEO Egon Behle announced the deal in Berlin on Tuesday, May 27, the first day of the ILA International Aerospace Exhibition. Both engines are predicted to come with a substantial market potential. "We expect sales over the whole program life valued at up to about five billion euros to MTU for either model," Behle said at a joint press briefing with Pratt & Whitney. The contracts have already been signed.

Munich, April 24, 2008 – MTU Aero Engines Holding AG improved its EBITDA1 by 9% in the first three months of 2008, from €90.6 million in the equivalent period of 2007 to €98.3 million. The EBITDA margin increased by 1.5 percentage points to 15.6%. Revenues of €630.0 million were generated in the first three months of 2008, remaining close to the previous year’s level (1-3/07: €640.6 million). After adjustments for the U.S. dollar exchange rate, revenues increased by 10%.

Munich, April 21, 2008 – MTU Aero Engines in April recorded an unusually high volume of orders under its V2500 program stake: its share in the 218-engine deals amounts to 185 million U.S. dollars, or about 117 million euros at current rates of exchange. The engines power Airbus A320 jetliners to be delivered primarily to US Airways, Hainan Airlines and British Airways in the years ahead.

Munich, March 13, 2008 – MTU Aero Engines Holding AG is striving for further profitable growth in 2008. Revenues are expected to remain at the previous year’s level, which corresponds to a growth rate of approximately 6% after adjustments for the effect of the U.S. dollar exchange rate. MTU anticipates that adjusted EBITDA1 in 2008 will remain close to the previous year’s level of €390 million, despite a significant increase in research and development and the effects of the U.S. dollar exchange rate. MTU expects to generate a net income for the year in the region of €180 million, which represents an increase of almost 20%. This forecast was published by MTU on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at its annual results press conference.
