Munich, November 30, 2018 – At its Capital Market Day, MTU Aero Engines AG presented its outlook for the group’s short- and long-term growth. The commercial series production and spare parts revenues are expected to be the main sources of growth in 2019. In a turnaround from previous years, the military engine business is predicted to take off again. MTU expects its adjusted EBIT margin to remain stable. In the short and long term, the prospects for growth in all business units are better than originally assumed. Net income is forecast to rise steadily between now and 2025, accompanied by further improvements in free cash flow.

Hannover, November 28, 2018 – MTU Maintenance, the global leader in customized solutions for aero engines, and new customer Serene Air have signed a long-term contract. The agreement covers the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the Pakistani operator’s CFM56-7 engines, powering its Boeing 737-800 fleet. Further, the agreement includes on-site support and spare engine leasing. The contract also includes the option to expand the scope in the future to include additional engines from Serene Air’s fleet.

On the occasion of this year’s Supplier Day, which was held in Munich in early November, the MTU Supplier Awards were presented to six companies in five categories. Zhuhai, November 7, 2018 – MTU Maintenance Zhuhai signed a number of agreements at the Zhuhai Airshow in China this morning. The first was a five-year agreement with longstanding customer Hainan Airlines for V2500 MRO services. Hainan Airlines and MTU Maintenance Zhuhai have worked together on CFM56 engines for well over ten years and are now expanding their cooperation to include the V2500 engines powering the airline’s A320 fleet.

Munich, October 25, 2018 – In the first nine months of 2018, MTU Aero Engines generated revenues of € 3,318.7 million, up 14% on the previous year (1-9/2017: € 2,900.8 million). The group’s operating profit increased by 16% from € 439.9 million to € 508.9 million. The EBIT margin stood at 15.3%
(1-9/2017: 15.2%). Earnings after tax rose by 16% to € 362.8 million (1-9/2017: € 312.8 million).

Seoul, September 28, 2018 – MTU Maintenance, the global leader in customized solutions for aero engines, signed a five-year V2500 contract with Asiana Airlines today. The contract covers the maintenance, repair and overhaul of 40 percent and engine trend monitoring for all of Asiana Airline and its subsidiaries’ V2500 fleet. The deal is worth around 245 million euros.

?French facility goes operational in Bordeaux

Munich, August 1, 2018 – Late last week, MTU Turbomeca Rolls-Royce ITP GmbH (known as MTRI), jointly with its partners MTU Aero Engines, Safran Helicopter Engines, Rolls-Royce and ITP Aero, approved AIA Bordeaux (Atelier Industriel de L’Aéronautique de Bordeaux) as the first MTR390-Enhanced MRO shop. At the facility in France, all variants of the MTR390 family of engines, which power the Tiger combat helicopter, will be maintained in the future, especially so the propulsion systems operated by the French Armed Forces. As of now, the first helicopters powered by MTR390-E engines, too, can be repaired and overhauled on site. Back in January this year, MTRI already awarded AIA Bordeaux the certificate as an approved shop for Line Replaceable Units (LRUs). The facility overhauls these LRUs on site for all participating nations. Approval of yet another MTR390 MRO shop, based in Spain’s Albacete, is scheduled for April 2019. In both instances, MTU takes care of the project management.

Munich, July 26, 2018 – MTU Aero Engines generated revenues of € 2,148.6 million in the first six months of 2018, up 9 % on the previous year (1-6/17: € 1,977.0 million). The group’s operating profit increased by 13 % from € 296.3 million to € 334.6 million, resulting in an EBIT margin increase from 15.0 % to 15.6 %. Earnings after tax also increased by 13 % to € 237.0 million (1-6/17: € 210.1 million).

Ludwigsfelde, July 20, 2018 - MTU Maintenance, one of the world’s leading provider of MRO services for commercial aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines, has laid the foundation stone for a new logistics center at its Ludwigsfelde location today. The total investment for the new building with a workspace of 6,500 square meters is 11.5 million euros. The additional floor space is needed to cater to the location’s continued growth. Between 2016 and 2018, the number of operating hours has risen 30 percent and is expected to increase further in the two-digit percentage range in the years to come, the reasons being higher workloads and the addition of new engine models to the company’s portfolio. Plans are to have the logistics center up and running in June 2019.

Vancouver, July 12th -- MTU Maintenance Canada celebrated the redelivery of the first V2500 engine for customer IAE International Aero Engines AG (“IAE”) in Vancouver at the end of June. The engine falls under the contract between IAE and MTU last year that sees MTU Maintenance Canada serving V2500 aftermarket customers. The V2500 is the engine that powers the A320ceo family.

Munich, July 2, 2017 - According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a new record 4.1 billion passengers took to the sky onboard scheduled flights last year, which marked an increase of 7.1 percent compared with 2016. Munich, May 3, 2018 – MTU Aero Engines AG generated revenues of €1,016.4 million in the first quarter of 2018, an increase of 5% compared with the same period of the previous year (1-3/2017: €971.9 million). The group’s operating profit rose by 11% from €157.9 million to €175.1 million, pushing up the EBIT margin from 16.2% to 17.2%. Earnings after tax increased in line with operating profit, growing by 10% from €111.7 million in the first quarter of 2017 to €123.3 million. MTU applied the international financial reporting standard IFRS 15 for the first time in its financial statements for the first quarter of 2018.

Munich / Rzeszów, April 11, 2018 – MTU Aero Engines, Germany’s leading engine manufacturer, is once again adding new production and assembly capacities at its facility in Rzeszów, Poland. Plans are for MTU Aero Engine Polska’s existing floor space to be enlarged by another 11,400 square meters, with groundbreaking for the construction planned in September 2018. The number of employees will increase from nearly 800 today to over 1,000 by 2020, which is tantamount to a 25-percent rise in headcount. The new jobs being created in this region are primarily for activities related to new technologies. The tremendous advancements in the field of additive manufacturing technologies and the steep increase in production rates within the whole MTU Group are behind this move. For instance,  production volumes of components for the latest geared turbofan engines will increase significantly as well as the activities for assembly and production of components and modules for latest widebody propulsion systems powering the 787 Dreamliner and the 777X. The MTU Group’s investment in the site so far amounts to 100 million euro, and it is the plan to invest an additional 80 million euro in the next 5 years (2018-2022). According to plans, the new parts of the facility will be up and running no later than the end of 2019.

Hamburg, Munich, March 26, 2018 – Starting in May 2018, one of the most advanced maintenance facilities in the aerospace industry will be erected in Jasionka (province of Subcarpathia) in the south-east of Poland. EME Aero (Engine Maintenance Europe), a joint ven-ture of Lufthansa Technik AG and MTU Aero Engines AG, has officially acquired the building site for the planned maintenance shop in Poland’s Aviation Valley near Rzeszów airport. The two parties to the joint venture will invest a total amount of around 150 million euros in the region by 2020.

Munich, February 21, 2018 – MTU Aero Engines AG once again set new records in the financial year 2017. Revenues increased by 6 % from € 4,732.7 million in 2016 to a new high of € 5,036.3 million. Operating profit reached a new record level of € 606.6 million, beating the previous year’s result by 21 % (2016: € 503.0 million). Munich, February 12, 2018 – The T408 engine that will power the U.S. Marine Corps’ CH-53K heavy-lift helicopter is now going into production. The contract to build 22 T408-GE-400s and provide logistics and engineering support for the engine, valued at 143,481,258 million U.S. dollars, has been awarded to GE Aviation by the U.S. military, marking a major milestone. MTU Aero Engines, Germany’s leading engine manufacturer, is responsible for the development and production of the power turbine for the T408 engine and has a work share of 18 percent in the engine program. The U.S. Marine Corps expects its first squadron of CH-53K helicopters to reach initial operational capability by 2019.
